Solo Art Exhibit: You Think You Know Me

Transgender visual artist, Tegan James of Metuchen, will hold his first solo art show in an unconventional gallery setting. The show will be held at The Gallery at What’s New Men’s Consignment store on Main Street in Metuchen.
The theme of the show, titled ‘You Think You Know Me’ relates to the LGBTQ community, with a heavy focus on the topics of being transgender and the gender spectrum. Twelve paintings of acrylic on canvas have been selected for this show. Their sizes range from 16×20” to over 4’ feet tall.
“It’s important that I use this opportunity to bring awareness to the transgender community, not only to give a voice to myself and my own journey, but also to be a voice for those out there who still feel lost, scared or uncertain. It wasn’t until I was 36 years old that I discovered what was right with me, and I wouldn’t have known if others weren’t out there sharing their stories too.”
